Recipe: Stuckenschneider Deer Chile
Joe Stuckenschneider’s Famous Deer Chile Recipe
FOR THOSE WHO LOVE CHILI BUT NOT DEER MEAT,
lean ground beef may be substituted for the deer meat.
Ingredients:
1 ½ lbs. ground deer meat
1 can red beans
1 medium onion chopped
1 can kidney beans
½ green pepper chopped
1 can chili beans (mild)
salt and pepper to taste
1 ½ tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
3 teaspoons sugar
Large can tomato juice
Preparation:
In a large pot simmer beans, tomato juice and spices until tender.
Brown onion and green pepper in askillet until tender.
Add deer meat and cook until done, and add to the beans mixture.
Add additional tomato juice to desired consistency.
